Back in business

In the past, I blogged here mostly for the monetary returns, partly to share my knowledge on Curtin Miri's accommodation, whatever little of I had. Before long, all I cared about was number of visits to my blogs, and all the keywords that I can use to generate more revenues. Or clicking ads every hour to get more money. It's a slow way to earn money and I am pretty sure that what I earned couldn't even pay the broadband fee. All in all it was a complete waste of time save for experimenting with Nuffnang's placement of ad in my blog.

Having just completed my education overseas, I came back to Kuching full of high hopes and can-do attitude. Unfortunately, Kuching is a sleeping city, there's nothing much one can do in Kuching. So with all my extra energy and capacity, I will start with putting our public bus route systems online so that everyone can use the bus.

Firstly, why should we even bother to use bus when most of us (Kuching-ites I know), have cars? I'm sure that by now everyone have heard of the importance for sustainability, reduction of carbon emission, effects of  pollution, etc. I can go on and on. Just so you know, carbon emission is closely related to green house gas effects of global warming and developed countries like Australia are already implementing Carbon Tax on corporations. So just because, our country, Malaysia has not implemented Carbon Tax and we are developing country, we can escape from our responsibility to Mother Earth and the future gen? Yes, one of the reason is not creating extra burden on Mother Earth. Another would be easing the congestion on the roads.

I know why most people who can afford cars would not use the public transport in Kuching and number 1 on the list would be safety. So yes, do consider your own safety and plan your routes properly. And even if one wishes to catch a bus, there is not enough information on the web for us to plan our routes. The most I can find is CPL's Facebook page. The quality of the information is bad.

I have revamped the blog and would like to blog more on Kuching's public bus system for the benefit of Kuching residents. The booklet I found on our public bus seem to be published for tourists wishing to explore Kuching city and go to RWMF. That's just sad.
